Getting the hang of a new life

The day has come.

–  after seeing my friends one last time before leaving,

–  after spending almost a month at home reassuring my worried parents that I’m ready for this,

– after puzzle-ing my backpack so that it fits everything I need and still remains in the dimensions of a hand-luggage,

I’m ready to board the longest trip by plane I’ve ever had – almost 20 hours with one stop in Paris.

How it went?

10 minutes in the air and I realized that we were already above my hometown. It felt interesting thinking that, for a kid down below, I was one of the people aboard that fascinating dot that leaves white traces behind 🙂

20 minutes in the air and I find out that the passengers near me are a nice family and the husband did, decades ago, a bit of the same trip I’m doing now. For sure talking with them took my mind off the 12 hour long flight that was in front of me.

Fast forward a few hours later – the long flight wasn’t so bad 🙂 and I safely landed, at night, in Buenos Aires.

Buen dia en Buenos Aires

I chose to stay 2 days in Buenos Aires, in case I needed to get used to the new time-zone before I started heading down south.

But guess who was up and running early the next day 🙂? A curious guy, eager to discover a new city from a new country located on a different continent.

And the city didn’t disappoint. I had 2 days full of walking and it made me want to return for more :).

But for now I’ll head south, to Ushuaia 🙂. And I leave you with a song I discovered while being here, in Buenos Aires:

  2. I love how your 10 minutes turned to 20 and then turned to days. Bite-size chunks of time like you are taking these small moments out of your backpack one bit at a time. Nice puzzle you seem to be putting together. I, for one, am hooked! Can’t wait to read until I see the big picture.
